![]() JQ is the Jewish gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and ally group at Columbia and Barnard. From discussions and panels to networking and employer site visits, iQ is committed to community-building, mentorship, and expanding the visibility of queer and trans individuals in STEM. One goal of Q&A is also to address the multitude of identities within the queer Asian community and provide support for all.Ĭolumbia iQ is the affinity group of LGBTQ undergraduates which seeks to foster queer and trans leadership and community in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). We host events and discussions addressing issues specific to the intersection of being queer and Asians. Q&A is a student group dedicated to creating a space for queer, genderqueer, and trans Asian students, domestic and international. Proud Colors also serves as an independent social, political, support, and discussion group and welcomes all people concerned with the advancement of the interests queer of people of color. One of the functions of Proud Colors is to further knowledge and acceptance of the queer of color community through discussions, lectures, and other social events. The overall objective of Proud Colors is to implement a comprehensive action program to promote an understanding of the past, present, and future experiences, problems, and needs of queer students of color. We aim to provide safe spaces on campus for all trans members of the Columbia/Barnard community. ![]() GendeRevolution is Columbia’s first organization devoted solely to equal rights for transgender individuals. We have continued to stand up, speak out and organize for queer students and their allies by facilitating educational workshops, open forums, speaker series, and social events such as First Friday. Since 1967, the Columbia Queer Alliance is proud to continue its legacy of pioneering activism and social justice, breaking down barriers and fostering strong, engaged communities along the way. Here are some of the groups for our LGBTQ community and their allies. Multicultural Affairs supports and advises several groups catering to the needs to cultural and identity groups.
